Individuals and corporate clients’ precious metals sell and purchase

Precious bank metals are gold (999,9 pureness), silver (999 pureness) platinum and platinum group metals (999,5 pureness) refined to the highest world’s standards in ingots and dust with appropriate quality certificates.

2. Precious metals sell procedure.

If a individual purchases bank metals for less than 50 000 UAH (approximately 0,5 kg) than the bank has the right not to identify this client and the client just has to spend a couple minutes to get a receipt. But if the client purchases for 50 000 UAH or more then the bank is obliged to identify this client. For this the client should show his passport and original identification number certificate. 4. Ingots quality certificate

According to the NBU’s provision on the operations with the bank metals, bank metal ingot quality certificate is an official stamp (trade mark) of a recognized manufacture or written certificate that certifies ingots pureness and identifies recognized manufacture’s title. Recognized manufactures are refinery companies (that are specialized on precious metals ingots eliquation) recognized suppliers of London precious metals market that are on special refinery companies list registered by the LBMA or are among the refinery companies - participants of the LPPM. Manufactures are refinery companies of Ukraine that refine precious metals and produce precious metals ingots and are not recognized manufactures.

 

5. Difference between a stamp ingot and a cast ingot

A cast ingot is manufactured by cast method and is drop -shaped and has a rectangular mount. There is an official stamp (trademark) of recognized manufacture on its surface. Stamp ingot is manufactured by stamping method on a high –tech equipment and has brick shape with mirror surface and has the same stamp as the cast ingot. In general the stamp ingot looks more attractive than the cast ingot.

 

6. Taxation of transaction with bank metals.

Operations with the bank metals considered to be an investment activity. Taxation of these transactions is performed in the end of the year for the previous year when a tax return declaration shows profit/loss. In this case the bank is not a tax agent and doesn’t hold any taxes form the customers.


7. Advantages of investing money into bank metals (gold).

8. Moving bank metals through the custom border of Ukraine.

  • Export of precious metals outside Ukraine. Individual is allowed to export 500 grams of precious metals in ingots (with pureness not les than 900 for gold, not less than 925 fro silver and 999 for platinum and palladium) per person (disregarding the age) if written declaration is provided to the customs.
  • Import of precious metals to Ukraine. Individual is allowed to import 500 grams of precious metals in ingots (with pureness not les than 900 for gold, not less than 925 fro silver and 999 for platinum and palladium) per person (disregarding the age) if written declaration is provided to the customs. Import of the bank metal in ingots that weight over 500 grams is carried out with NBU’s special permission. 05 form, with its copy sent by the appropriate structural subdivision of the National Bank to the State Custom service.
  • Transit of precious metals through the territory of Ukraine. Individuals who has a transit through the territory of Ukraine are allowed to transit bank metals in ingots under 1000 grams, if they have Ukrainian transit visa, destination visa, tickets or other document that confirm transit through the territory of Ukraine.
  • Import and Export of the precious metals ingots by the banks. Import and export of the bank metals is performed by the authorized banks according to the Rules of individual licenses provision to the authorized banks to import and export foreign currencies, precious metals ingots and checks, approved by the National Bank of Ukraine as of 06.08.2003 N 327.
